Who We Are

THE CARIBBEAN'S
PREMIER ESPORTS EVENT

First Attack is Puerto Rico's flagship annual esports and fighting game tournament since 2013. What started as a passionate grassroots gathering has grown into the biggest FGC event in the Caribbean — drawing thousands of attendees and elite competitors from Japan, South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Panama, and beyond.

Founded by Ricardo Román "Mono PR" through his organization Red Rooster, First Attack has earned recognition on World Circuits and Challenger Events — most notably hosting the 2019 Latin America Regional Final — and consistently attracts some of the world's most celebrated FGC talent.

More than a tournament, First Attack is a cultural celebration: a Caribbean "vacation tournament" where world-class competition meets sun, music, food, and genuine community. There is nothing else like it in the world.

The Beginning
Ricardo Román "Mono PR" launches the first First Attack in a small venue. A passionate local FGC gathers around Street Fighter and other fighting games — planting the seed of what will become the Caribbean's biggest esports event.

Convention Center Debut
First Attack moves to the Puerto Rico Convention Center, featuring Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and a growing Street Fighter bracket. International competitors begin making the journey to San Juan.

Capcom Pro Tour Recognition
First Attack earns a spot on the Capcom Pro Tour Street Fighter V World Circuit — officially putting Puerto Rico on the global FGC map. Elite players from across the world compete under Caribbean lights.

LATAM Regional Final
First Attack hosts the Capcom Pro Tour 2019 Latin America Regional Final on October 26–27 at the PRCC — the most prestigious edition yet. Competitors fly in from Japan, South Korea, Canada, and Panama. Puerto Rico's government creates an eSports Advisory Council citing the event's impact.

Online & Resilient
The global pandemic halts in-person events, but First Attack keeps the community alive through online tournaments. Mono PR is listed as a Capcom Pro Tour 2020 Premier Event organizer — the community's spirit never wavers.

Ricardo Román "Mono PR" is a Puerto Rican professional gamer, tournament organizer, and the architect of First Attack PR. After years of traveling the world for FGC competitions, Mono PR came home with a mission: to build Puerto Rico into a global esports destination. Starting with a small gathering in 2013, he grew First Attack into an internationally recognized major while simultaneously competing at the highest level — including earning an EVO 2017 trip through StreamMe's Savage Series.

Through Red Rooster, he serves as the backbone of the island's competitive gaming scene, organizing events, developing talent, and representing Puerto Rico at majors worldwide. Even competing under the tag RR|Mono, he placed Top 4 at First Attack 2024 in Street Fighter 6. Mono PR proves every year that Puerto Rico belongs on the world stage.

With a strong background in systems analysis and project coordination, she brings the organizational precision and technical expertise needed to manage the complex logistics of Puerto Rico’s largest esports event. From vendor coordination and venue setup to scheduling and on-site operations, Yarelis ensures every moving part of FA2026 falls into place — so competitors, attendees, and staff can focus on what matters most: the competition. Her dedication to structure and detail is what transforms a vision into a world-class event.
